La Casa Uomo Morto is a two-hundred-year old farm house on a hill in Tuscany’s Casentinos,
south-
east of Florence. Since 1991, Esslingen’s youth association Stadtjugendring has been the owner of the estate. Uomo Morto has been carefully renovated and redesigned with a great love for detail and many work hours by countless volunteers. Ecological concepts are an important part of the house – like the wind generator and the solar panels that provide electricity and warm water; the composting toilets; the sanitary facilities with canopied open-air showers and sinks and wonderful view of the valley. And let’s not forget to mention the original brick oven and its mouthwatering pizzas.

17 beds are available inside the house
(divided up into four two-bed, one four-bed and one five-bed rooms),
as well as a large kitchen with dining area,
a lounge and an open fireplace. The spacious
garden provides ample opportunities for pitching
your own tents.
